Travel FAQs

How do I get to the festival?

We’re conveniently located near downtown Ottawa within walking or cycling distance of Parliament Hill.

OC Transpo service is included in the cost of every festival admission pass. Ride the bus to and from the festival, starting 3 hours before gates open until 2 hours after the gates close. Visit to plan your trip.

Where can I lock up my bike?

RBC Bluesfest actually has supervised valet bike parking! Our Bike Park is located just steps away from the festival site.

Is parking available onsite?

Parking in the War Museum underground parking garage must be purchased in advance. Parking passes may be pre-purchased as an add-on when buying your festival ticket(s). In addition, here are some parking lots near the festival site:

  • Place de Ville, Queen and Kent (nightly rates apply);
  • Place du Portage, Rue Maisonneuve;
  • Terrace de la Chaudière, Rue Eddy;

You can also check out Parkopedia, Ottawa Kiosk, and the City of Ottawa for more information about parking in the area. Finally, OC Transpo Park and Ride could also be a great option for you!

What is your policy for pick up and drop off of disabled persons using Para Transpo?

The pick-up and drop-off location for disabled patrons using Para Transpo is directly behind the City Stage (main stage) on Vimy Place.

RBC Bluesfest organizers highly recommend that patrons being dropped off do so before 4:30PM, as after that, Vimy Place will be closed for the evening. Pick up after the show will be in front of the museum after roads have re-opened at approximately 11:30PM. The goal each night is to have the road re-opened by that time.

Are there any street closures during the festival?

Yes! Beginning at7PM, each night of the festival, we close:

  • Sir John A MacDonald Parkway between Booth Street and Parkdale Avenue
  • Booth Street between Albert Street and the Sir John A MacDonald Parkway

Does RBC Bluesfest have onsite camping?

We don’t. But there are several spots where you can set up your tent in the Ottawa area. Check out some of the options at Ottawa Kiosk

Are there hotels close-by?

We’re close to the centre of a government town, there’s a pretty good chance that there’s a hotel or two nearby. See our list of amazing RBC Bluesfest partner hotels here. And, try out some of the great places our city has to offer by visiting Ottawa Tourism.
